BACH BIO
Bach is a recipient of the 2019 Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame and the winner of the 2016 Maryland Music Awards “Best Jazz Artist”. Bach’s most recent album, Fierce Heart, made it in RMR TOP JAZZ ALBUMS for the Year of 2020 listing "Fierce Heart" at #33 out of 200. Fierce Heart was in the charts for 20 weeks. Bach's 2015 recording Otherworld reached #28 in the CMJ National Jazz Chart and #4 in the Canadian Earshot National Jazz Chart. Testament to his popularity as a recording artist, Bach’s discography extends back 18 years, starting with Window on the West (which received major airplay at notable smooth jazz stations in D.C. and NYC) and including the world music driven 5 Thousand Words, A Deep Breath and his 2008 concert album Live at Baker Park.
Bach has received Two Gold Records, one for a song he co-wrote for Crystal Waters and the Basement Boys and another with Thievery Corporation for keyboard work he did for Everything but the Girl.
Bach toured Europe numerous times with the RCA Records DC/NYC based Fishbelly Black. He has performed as keyboardist in Enrique Eglesias band.
A popular festival attraction and mainstay on the jazz and wine festival circuits, Bach has performed at the Rosslyn Jazz Festival (on a bill with Spyro Gyra), the Dauphin Jazz Festival (on a bill with Nick Colionne), the Maryland Wine Festival, Virginia Wine Festival, the 2013 Inaugural Ball at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, a World Series party for Major League Baseball in Philadelphia, the Wine Enthusiast Wine Star Awards at the NYC Public Library and the Great Grapes Wine Festivals. Bach is a recipient of a Maryland State Art Performance Award and a Maryland State Art Composition Award, and his band, the David Bach Consort was the winner of the Jazz Discovery Showcase on BET. The David Bach Consort was also voted Best Instrumental Band by Music Monthly Magazine and the keyboardist received a WAMMIE nomination for Best Instrumentalist and Best CD.
