FIVE Facts About David
ONE: At six, David hijacked his sister’s piano lessons—learning them better than she did. His parents finally got the hint and signed him up for his own, with his mom chauffeuring him every week until high school.
TWO: He wrote most of *FIERCE HEART* while recovering from a car accident caused by a drunk driver. Getting back to composing (and life) took serious focus, which became the album’s theme.
THREE: Music runs deep in his family—his grandmother was a London Royal Academy of Music grad. As an Air Force brat and touring musician, David has lived in Asia, Europe, and the U.S., visited 35 countries, and racked up miles in 42 states. His dad, an Air Force Colonel, was a triple-war veteran, so moving was basically a family hobby.
FOUR: Back in his Boulder days, David had the only Poly Moog in town. One day, a kid named Prince needed to rent it. For two weeks, David got to hang out in the studio and watch the future legend work his magic.
FIVE: David’s has two RIAA Gold Records, several music awards, and was inducted into the Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame. He’s a champion of independent music, a devoted yogi (Iyengar, Hatha, and Vinyasa are his jam), and once named his publishing company *King of Sushi Music*—because ASCAP rejected every name he proposed.
